2025 TERMS OF COMPETITION
The 2025 Copthorne Bay of Islands 4-Course Golf Classic (“the Tournament”) shall be under the management and control of the PaR nz Golfing Holidays whose decision on all matters relating to the Tournament shall be final.
Eligibility
- The Tournament is open to men and women aged 20 years and over (players must have reached their 20th birthday on or before the first day of competition (19 May 2025).
- The Tournament is only open to amateur golfers with a current World Golf Handicap.
- The maximum handicap index not exceeding 36.0 (men) and 40.4 (women).
- PaR nz Golfing Holidays accepts that handicaps may alter from the time of entry to the start of the tournament.
- PaR nz Golfing Holidays may accept entries from players, whose current handicap is higher than when they entered, providing all play is off the maximum handicap levels as stated.
- All index handicaps will be frozen for the tournament but adjusted at each course according the tee settings and course rating.
- However, PaR nz Golfing Holidays reserve the right to review daily scores and make adjustments where a player is playing well above their playing handicap.
Entry Requirements
- The field is limited to the first 200 entries received.
- Entries will only be accepted with payment of NZD$350pp deposit with the balance, including for all add-ons, due by 1 April 2025.
- Entries will be taken up to the tournament date unless filled prior.
- Entries shall only be received online www.parnz.co.nz.
- All golfers will receive an electronic confirmation of entry and payment receipt.
- PaR nz Golfing Holiday reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone, without having to give a reason.
- All players have the option to register in person on Sunday 18 May 2025 at Charlotte’s Kitchen, Paihia, or on the first day of competition, Monday 19 May 2025.
Format
- The Tournament will be a 72-hole (four rounds) single Stableford event.
- Players will be split into equal handicap divisions by gender.
- For low markers, there will be a concurrent best gross prize, men and women awarded.
- Players will be drawn to play together with their friends on at least ONE occasion (Kauri Cliffs and one other) and then mixed within the field, for the remaining 3 rounds.
Scorecards
- Details of score card returns will be provided at tournament registration and may include the use of electronic score cards.
Results
- Prizes will be awarded daily, in addition to overall winners determined by the highest aggregate of Stableford points over the four competition rounds by divisions.
- Overall winners announced at the Farewell Prize Giving Function Friday 23 May 2025.
- Players may win more than one daily prize across the competition rounds.
- Players may only win one aggregate prize.
- All prizes will be distributed in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Golf Status.
- All results will be published on www.parnz.co.nz
Ties
- In the event that players are tied, a count-back to determine the daily winners or place-getter will be conducted:the last 18 holes will be counted, and if still tied then the last 9 holes, then the last 6 holes, then 3 and then the last hole played. If still tied, the count-back will be decided by lot.
- After 4 rounds (regardless of the course rotation), in the event that players are tied, a count-back to determine the overall winners or place-getter will be conducted: the last round of 18 holes will be counted, and if still tied then the last 9 holes, then the last 6 holes, then 3 and then the last hole played. If still tied, the count-back will be decided by lot.
Carts
- Limited carts are available at the courses - except Kauri Cliffs where ALL play will be in carts.
- In case of an over subscription, and where the number of carts is limited, priority will be given to those with a valid medical reason who may be asked to produce a medical certificate.
Payments
- Deposit payment of $350 per person (golfers) is required with registration.
- Final payments are required by the 1st April 2025, as per invoices including all extras, sent by Golf Genius.
- Deposits are non refundable or transferable to another PaR nz Golfing Holidays tour or tournament with agreement LESS 15% administration fee.
- Payments after the 1st April are only refundable with the following conditions: Deposit payments after the 1st April 2025 are non refundable; any other refunds subject to a replacement player being found and, subject to refunds from any supplier.
General
- The Tournament will be played under the Rules of Golf, the Terms of Golf and the following issued at the tournament: Local Rules for each course: Health & Safety including any protocols required for COVID-19 : Code of Conduct: Pace of Play Players are expected to conform to all rules and regulations as may be issued.
- PaR nz Golfing Holidays reserves the right to amend any condition and / or to alter the number of playing days in the case of inclement weather.
- Should any individual course be forced to abandon / cancel play on any day, the number of tournament rounds contributing to individual points will be reduced accordingly, regardless of whether some courses / players are not affected by such round cancellation.
